As a General Field Supervisor and Superintendent, Mr. Smith's experience and responsibilities covered all aspects of field operation. Tasks included scheduling of projects, cost analysis and proper management of the field staff. Most projects were done on a fast track basis. Project dollar values ran from $50,000 at Sloan Kettering to $8.5 million at Sotheby's Gallery. Coordination and timing was of the essence in order to meet the necessary deadlines and openings. Projects were brought in on time and within budget.
His construction skills, honed from years of hands on direct experience in the field are the force behind Pillar Construction's successes and satisfied clients. Mr. Smith attended the Institute of Design (Construction for Construction Management) and served in a four year apprenticeship program with the New York Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners
Mr. Smith is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
